Effects of immigration are felt in every country in the world. It can be explained as the movement of citizens from their origin country to a different state. There are several cases that can make people vacate their country of origin to an alien nation. People moving from their origin country to a country may be a result of a war, escape from being prosecuted or prejudice among others. Whereas, some may prefer moving voluntarily in search of greener pastures. Although moving may be important, it can be an origin of various problems.Looking at the immigration from a different perspective, it can be an act of courage also. Immigration can have both good and bad effects on the host country and the original country.In most cases, the host countries are developed and industrialized.This therefore make them receive a massive number of immigrants.
The ways how immigrants benefit their host country are explained as follows. Immigrants can work in sectors where the country’s citizen cannot work. From this, high taxes are collected. Also, the immigrant works for more extended hours and their salaries might not be not as high as the citizen would demand which is a benefit to the host country also.
If welcomed and allowed to feel at home, immigrants bring various cultural practices that promote peace and integration. By this, strong relationships between the two countries will be made. There may be available talents from the immigrants if they are from a country with advanced education systems.
However, there are also adverse effects of this immigration especially to the host country.An uncontrolled immigration can bring in a lot of challenges to a country.
There may be a high level of insecurity brought about by the incoming of people from a different country and culture. The high unemployment and crime rates may be the cause of this.
If not appropriately managed, diseases may be spread by immigrants. Thus, this call for people to be regularly checked for diseases and verified to avoid further spreading. Hence, a need to have diseases scanning points where people can be checked.
Population in both countries is affected due to immigration. This can jeopardize economies of both countries in different ways. Due to an increased population, there may be an environmental hazard from the emergence of refugee camps.
Immigration can also cause brain drain. The search for better places to work can make people move to foreign countries leaving theirs less of talents which can be a danger to the economy.
